Utah Tech University to host Special Needs Halloween Carnival for the community

Offering the Southern Utah special needs community a safe place to celebrate Halloween, the Service Branch of the Utah Tech Student Association is hosting its annual Special Needs Halloween Carnival.

Featuring games, crafts, treats and karaoke, the carnival is set to take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 12 in Utah Tech University’s Gardner Student Center. Costumes are encouraged, admission is free and the community is invited to attend.

“The Special Needs Halloween Carnival is one of my favorite events because it creates an opportunity for students and the community to enjoy a fun evening full of Halloween festivities,” Sydney Sorensen, Utah Tech Student Association vice president of service, said. “I love to see all of the costumes people come up with and create lasting memories.”

Managed by Utah Tech student, faculty and staff volunteers, the event provides an opportunity for Utah Tech students to connect, build friendships and celebrate Halloween with the community in a welcoming environment.

“The Special Needs Halloween Carnival is a great tradition that allows our students to host a fun event for the special needs community here in St. George,” Anilee Adams, assistant director of Student Involvement and Leadership at Utah Tech, said. “It is always a fun time interacting with those who come out and everyone leaves at the end of the night having had a great time.”
