Dixie’s Got Talent, Southern Utah’s premier talent competition, seeking auditions

Presented by the Utah Tech University Entertainment Alliance, Dixie’s Got Talent is seeking local performers looking for an opportunity to share their craft with the community, gain exposure and compete for cash prizes.

Virtual auditions for Dixie’s Got Talent, an annual tradition that raises funds for Utah Tech University student scholarships, are open July 1 through July 26. Complete submission guidelines are available at utahtech.edu/dgt.

“Dixie’s Got Talent has grown into one of Southern Utah’s premier showcases for local performers,” Del Beatty, Utah Tech’s vice president of student affairs, said. “It gives talented locals the opportunity to step into the spotlight and share their gifts with our community.”

In the first round of auditions, held through video submissions, contestants compete in the youth, adult or group category. After a panel of judges screen the entries, selected contestants will be invited to participate in the next round, in-person callback auditions on Aug. 1. From there, the top eight contestants in each category will be selected to be one of the 24 acts that will perform at the 2026 Dixie’s Got Talent Finale.

This year, the finale is set to take place at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 12 at America First Performing Arts Center on the Utah Tech University campus in conjunction with the City of St. George’s annual Dixie Days. At the finale, a panel of judges and audience voting will determine the winner and runner-up in each category. Finale tickets range from $20 to $50 and will be available for purchase beginning at 9 a.m. on Aug. 12 at utahtech.edu/ticket-office.

“What I enjoy most about Dixie’s Got Talent is seeing people find the courage to perform and earn recognition for their abilities, while raising scholarship funds for Utah Tech students,” Beatty said. “Having been involved since the event’s inception, I’ve loved watching it become a cherished community tradition.”
