National Student Clearinghouse data breach notification

The National Student Clearinghouse, which coordinates enrollment reporting and verification for most colleges and universities in the United States, including Utah Tech University, has announced it is the latest organization impacted by a data security event involving the MOVEit file transfer software.

The clearinghouse notified the Utah System of Higher Education, which is comprised of Utah’s public universities, colleges and technical colleges, that it could potentially be affected by this incident. At this time, it is not certain if any Utah Tech students have been impacted.

The clearinghouse is still reviewing what and whose data was compromised. The university anticipates that NSC will be reaching out to those impacted. Additionally, Utah Tech is closely monitoring the situation and will communicate with potentially impacted students.

Until NSC provides information regarding who was impacted, concerned students may read information provided by the Federal Trade Commission regarding how to protect data or contact NSC directly via their online support form.
