Dixie State University’s 107th Commencement Ceremony to honor the class of 2018

Dixie State University’s 107th Commencement Ceremony will honor the 1,762 students who have applied to receive baccalaureate and associate degrees this year. Recognizing the academic accomplishments of the class of 2018, the institution’s 107th Commencement Ceremony will be held on May 4 in Trailblazer Stadium. The processional of graduates will begin at 8 a.m. and guests must be seated by 8:30 a.m. Tickets are not required, as seating is open for all guests and doors will open at 7 a.m. Andrea B. Thomas has been selected as the ceremony’s featured speaker. A professor of marketing and the director of business scholars at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah, Thomas recently joined the university after a 23-year career in brand management, retail marketing, innovation and sustainability. Thomas spent eight and a half years at Walmart Stores in a variety of roles, including senior vice president of marketing for the U.S. business, senior vice president of sustainability and senior vice president of private brands. Before working for Walmart, Thomas was vice president of global chocolate for the Hershey Company. Previously, she spent 13 years at PepsiCo, where she worked in brand management, innovation, and retail marketing for Frito-Lay and Pizza Hut. Prior to the ceremony, the annual Dixie Academic Awards will be held at 5 p.m. and the Dixie Awards will be at 7 p.m. on May 3 in the Eccles Fine Arts Center Mainstage Theatre. These ceremonies honor Dixie State University graduates for their contributions inside and outside of the classroom.
