Dixie State University’s lecture series Dixie Forum is working with DSU DOCUTAH International Documentary Film Festival to host the premiere of this year’s Filmmaker Chats.
The inaugural Filmmaker Chat of the 2016 DOCUTAH festival will explore the process of creating a film’s storyline with the presentation “Telling the Story: Tell the one you wanted or the one you found?” The presentation will take place from noon to 12:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6, in the Robert N. and Peggy Sears Art Museum Gallery of the Dolores Doré Eccles Fine Arts Center on the Dixie State campus.
The Filmmaker Chats will continue through Sept. 9 at noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. each day. The Filmmaker Chats are free and open to the public. They provide a unique opportunity to sit down with filmmakers in an intimate setting and hear the inside story behind films. For more information about the Filmmaker Chats, go to docutah.com.
DOCUTAH will be held on the Dixie State campus Sept. 6 through 10 and will screen 62 documentary films. As part of Dixie State University’s academic component, DOCUTAH’s mission is to inspire a global connection through independent documentary films and audience access to filmmakers. DOCUTAH strives to enhance the education of independent filmmakers, aspiring film students, and residents of the local community and entire world. DOCUTAH provides an opportunity for students and filmmakers to discuss and advance their skills in the art of filmmaking. To learn more, visit docutah.com.
