"Suzette brings 30 years of experience in human resources leadership and is deeply committed to supporting our people. Adding Suzette to our team reflects my vision for Utah Tech’s next chapter — one rooted in innovation, collaboration and a renewed focus on people and culture."

Starting her career in higher education at the University of Idaho at age 16, Yaezenko is a seasoned human resources executive, particularly in higher education. Her career spans institutions across the Western United States, including Washington State University, Oregon Institute of Technology, Bellevue College and Northern Arizona University. Before joining Utah Tech, she worked in Tucson, Arizona, where she served both the City of Tucson and a multi-state, industry-leading asphalt, emulsion and materials company.

“Human Resources is not just about policies and processes. It’s about people and purpose,” Yaezenko said. “At Utah Tech University, I’m excited to partner with leaders and employees to build a culture where innovation thrives, talent is empowered and every individual feels valued and supported.”

Throughout her career, Yaezenko has transformed organizations by focusing on building high-trust workplaces and aligning people practices with institutional mission and strategy.

One of her most notable accomplishments includes securing more than $600,000 in salary savings during pandemic-related financial challenges by successfully administering a complex, short-term, state-subsidized program.

Yaezenko will lead Utah Tech University’s human resources strategy, supporting the institution’s mission through effective workforce planning, employee engagement and organizational excellence.
