Utah Tech University celebrates Homecoming with carnival, parade and football game

Featuring traditions like the carnival, parade and football game, Utah Tech University invites the community to join Trailblazer Nation in celebrating the institution’s Homecoming throughout the week of Oct. 20.

“Homecoming brings back so many great memories of old friends, family and spaces on campus. Our amazing school spirit connects every era,” Brooke Sullivan, assistant director of alumni relations at Utah Tech, said. “With the carnival, live music, drone show and parade, there’s something for everyone and it’s going to be such a fun celebration for alumni, students and the community.”

Utah Tech will continue its longstanding tradition of hosting the Homecoming Royalty Competition on Oct. 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre in UT’s Eccles Fine Arts Center. Tickets to the competition are available at utahtech.edu/ticket-office.

Weekend festivities will begin with the traditional Homecoming Carnival at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 24 on campus’s Encampment Mall. Immediately following the carnival, there will be a concert featuring vocal artist Lillian Breeze starting at 7 p.m. on the Encampment Mall. The concert will end with a drone show. Both events are open to the community and free to attend.

The final day of Homecoming, Oct. 25, will begin at 10 a.m. with the family-friendly parade down University Avenue, featuring floats, bands and plenty of candy to go around.

That afternoon will feature Trailblazer Village, the ultimate Homecoming tailgate experience, at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 25 in the parking lot at Atwood Innovation Plaza. Homecoming Week will culminate with Trailblazer Football taking on Southern Utah University at Greater Zion Stadium at 6 p.m.
