Recognizing Utah Tech University’s commitment to excellence, innovation and student success, the institution invites the community to its Fall 2025 Academic Convocation.
Serving as a formal launch of the academic year, Convocation is set to take place on Aug. 11 in the Eccles Fine Arts Center Main Stage Theater on the Utah Tech campus. A reception will begin at 9:30 a.m. with remarks following at 10 a.m.
“The Fall Academic Convocation is a moment to reflect on our shared purpose and re-energize our academic mission,” Michael Lacourse, Utah Tech’s provost for Academic Affairs, said. “It’s also a chance to welcome new and returning colleagues as we advance Utah Tech’s trajectory as a polytechnic-focused institution.”
Convocation will feature addresses from university leadership, including President Shane B. Smeed, Lacourse and Dottie Catlin, executive director of Career Services. Catlin will present on “Building an Ecosystem for Career Readiness.”
Convocation will take place ahead of classes beginning on Aug. 20. Enrollment is open until the first day of school at utahtech.edu/apply and more information about the Fall 2025 Academic Convocation is available at academics.utahtech.edu/convocation.
