Video auditions for Dixie’s Got Talent open through July 15

Video auditions to be a contestant in Dixie’s Got Talent, a showcase of Southern Utah performers, are now being accepted through July 15.

Presented by the Utah Tech University Entertainment Alliance, Dixie’s Got Talent is an annual tradition that raises funds for Utah Tech University student scholarships while offering local performers an opportunity to share their craft with the community, gain exposure and vie for cash prizes.

“Dixie’s Got Talent is one of our family’s favorite community traditions,” Dr. Jordon Sharp, vice president of marketing & communication at Utah Tech and a past DGT winner, said. “This event brings out the best in all of us whether we are performing or supporting. There is so much talent in our area, and there is nothing better than experiencing that talent together as we cheer on our friends, family and neighbors.”

The first round of auditions will be open through video submissions in which contestants will compete in the youth, adult or group category. Nearly half of all contestants will be invited to participate in the next round, in-person callback auditions on Aug. 9. From there, the top eight contestants in each category will be selected to be one of the 24 acts that will perform at the 2025 Dixie’s Got Talent Finale. This year, the Finale is being held at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 6 in the Main Stage Theater in Utah Tech’s Eccles Fine Arts Center in conjunction with the City of St. George’s annual Dixie Days.

At the Finale, a panel of judges and audience voting will determine the winner and runner-up in each category. Finale Tickets are $20 each and will be available for purchase beginning at 9 a.m. on Aug. 15 at utahtech.edu/ticket-office.
