As part of Campus to Community, Utah Tech University Student Association’s largest service project of the year, UT students will complete yardwork throughout the community and are accepting submissions for consideration from residents seeking service.
UT students will offer outdoor services like gardening and yardwork, painting, washing windows and organization on March 1 free of charge at residences and locations within 3 miles of the Utah Tech campus. Community members are invited to submit requests for service here through Feb. 22. The Utah Tech Student Association’s Service Branch will conduct site visits prior to the day of service and will notify requestors if students will be able to fulfill their requests.
“As a student who participated in Campus to Community last year, it was so meaningful to me to meet local community members and to serve them,” Baylie Booth, vice president of service with Utah Tech’s Student Association, said. “It is a great way to give back to the community. I hope to create this same experience for others students this spring.”
Students will divide into groups, ensuring residents throughout the community will have their service needs met. The annual Campus to Community project epitomizes the Service Brach’s “Blazers Give Back” motto and is students’ way of saying thank you to the St. George community for supporting Trailblazer Nation.
“Campus to Community offers a fun and meaningful way for students to serve others while building connections with peers and local community members,” Anilee Adams, assistant director of student involvement and leadership at Utah Tech, said. “It is one of my favorite events of the year.”
Utah Tech Student Association’s Service Branch connects Trailblazers with ways to give back to the community and engage with community partners. The branch also organizes domestic and international travel for Alternative Breaks Humanitarian Trips. Learn more at utahtech.edu/utsa/service.
