Dixie State University enters partnerships with three community colleges

Dixie State University recently signed articulation agreements with Salt Lake Community College, Snow College and the College of Southern Nevada to help community college students earn a bachelor’s degree in four years.

The agreements attach Associate of Science and Associate of Arts degrees at each institution to specific bachelor’s degree programs at DSU. The collaboration helps students complete the community college coursework in two years and the DSU curriculum in an additional two years.

“These agreements are truly for the students,” Dr. Sarah Vandermark, DSU’s senior associate provost for academic success and dean of university college, said. “Students can review and know which courses and degrees have seamless transfer credits to earn their bachelor’s degree here at Dixie State University, soon to be Utah Tech University. By informing our students through our new transfer website and having this agreement in place, we hope to help transparently guide our students toward a four-year degree.”

In addition to offering active learning experiences in the classroom and online as well as real-world learning experiences through internships, clinical experiences, undergraduate research, industry partnerships and service learning, Dixie State has the most affordable university tuition in the state of Utah. With the new articulation agreements, transfer students can easily pair Dixie State’s offerings with a community college foundation.

“We are excited to enter into these new partnerships with Salt Lake Community College, Snow College and College of Southern Nevada to provide additional opportunities and pathways for their students who have completed associate degrees to seamlessly transfer and complete their bachelor’s degree within two years,” Darlene Dilley, associate provost for enrollment management at Dixie State University, said.
