Dixie State University student Emily Isaacson named Utah State Champion with a perfect score on the Certiport Microsoft Office exam
Dixie State University freshman Emily Isaacson received a perfect 1000/1000 score on the Certiport Microsoft Office Specialist Word Exam and has been selected to represent Utah at the Certiport U.S. National Championship competition in 2021.
Isaacson, who is also a member of the DSU women's basketball team, will have the opportunity to travel to Orlando, Florida next June to compete with other state champions from across the United States.
The Microsoft Office Specialist U.S. National Championship is a special event for Certiport, where student competitors, including Isaacson, gather to test their expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. "I'm most excited about representing Dixie State," shared Isaacson. "It's such a great school that provides great learning opportunities, and I look forward to representing DSU and the state of Utah."
Isaacson was selected as the Utah State Champion out of all other certifiers including fellow DSU peers and students at all other universities and colleges. Dixie State Computer Information Systems instructor David Rowley said it is very rare to receive a perfect score on the exam and it's a unique opportunity to have a DSU student selected to represent the state. "Emily showed exemplary attention to academic goals in my class. This is a tremendous honor afforded to only one person in the State," said Rowley. "DSU alone had 70 students take the certification exam in the past academic year."
