Live Long. Live Well. issues survey, other resources amid COVID-19 pandemic
To assess the health status and habits of the Washington County community amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Live Long. Live Well. initiative is asking all adult residents to fill out a brief health survey.
The study will help the Live Long. Live Well. initiative, a partnership between Dixie State University, DSU’s Institute for Continued Learning, the City of St. George, and Intermountain Healthcare, reach its goal to help Washington County Residents who are 50 and older maximize their health, longevity and well-being by connecting them to programs that contribute to good health.
"The survey was designed to assess the physical, cognitive, emotional and social health status of residents of Washington County,” Institute for Continued Learning Director Robert M. Kramer said.
The study, which was initially released in November 2019 and is being reopened to gauge the impact of COVID-19 on the community, is being conducted by Nancy Hauck, associate provost of community & global engagement at Dixie State, and Jeremy Yorgason and Melanie Serrao Hill, both from the School of Family Life at Brigham Young University. Those who respond to the survey at livelong.utahtech.edu, will be entered in the giveaway and have a chance to win a $50 Visa or &100 Apple Gift Card.
In addition to the survey, Live Long. Live Well. is offering various resources, including the Live! Facebook page and website at livelong.utahtech.edu that contains links to resources and articles to help residents through the pandemic, as well as free online classes through ICL. To register for the classes and for more information, visit icl.utahtech.edu.
“The Live! website and Facebook page were developed to help members of our community to live long, healthy lives,” Kramer said. “That role has now been expanded to be a resource during the COVID-19 crisis.”
