Dixie State University to host second annual Trailblazer Nation Tree Lighting Celebration
Dixie State University is ushering in the most wonderful time of the year at its second annual Trailblazer Nation Tree Lighting Celebration.
The Trailblazer Nation Tree Lighting Celebration is set to take place at DSU on Dec. 9 next to the Jeffrey R. Holland Centennial Commons building at the end of Trailblazer Boulevard. Festivities will begin at 5 p.m. and the traditional lighting of Dixie State’s 40-foot tree will take place at 6 p.m. The event is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
“This magical time of the year is filled with holiday traditions,” DSU Director of University Events & Promotions Megan Church said. “Dixie State is thrilled to continue its Trailblazer Nation Tree Lighting Celebration and the event promises to be filled with fun for everyone.”
The celebration will include performances from local groups and organizations as well as special appearances by Santa & Mrs. Clause, The Grinch and Dixie’s own Brooks the Bison. Additionally, the event will feature holiday games and activities, tractor rides around campus and holiday treats from local vendors.
“We are excited to celebrate the holiday season with our community that we know and love,” said Bailey Zimmerman, events & promotions coordinator at Dixie State. “Joining together always brings that added holiday cheer and Dixie Spirit.”
The light tree, which will be located on campus in the roundabout on Trailblazer Boulevard, will remain lit through the New Year’s holiday. For more information, visit utahtech.edu/treelighting.
