Dixie State to host Regional Symposium for Research, Innovation and Creativity
Offering the Southern Utah community an opportunity to present cutting-edge research, innovation and creative projects, Dixie State University will host its third annual Regional Symposium for Research, Innovation and Creativity.
The symposium is set to take place at noon on April 18 in Atwood Innovation Plaza on the Dixie State campus. Admission is free. The community and scholars from all academic disciplines are encouraged to attend to stimulate interdisciplinary discourse and explore the range of academic scholarship beyond the traditional classroom.
“This is a great opportunity for Dixie State and the community to connect, collaborate and celebrate the research and creative accomplishments of students, faculty and professionals in the region,” Dr. Rico Del Sesto, director of Undergraduate Research and department chair of the Physical Sciences Department at Dixie State, said.
Registration and check in are set to begin at noon, with oral presentations and performances beginning at 1:30 p.m. Additionally, a reception offering refreshments, poster presentations and displays will run from 3 to 5 p.m. Food trucks will be available throughout the entire symposium.
