All-Steinway Series continues with a recital by Robert Nakea
As part of its All-Steinway Series, the Dixie State University Department of Music will host pianist Robert Nakea in a special recital.
The concert is set to take place at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 28 in the Concert Hall of the Dolores Doré Eccles Fine Arts Center on the Dixie State campus. Admission is free and open to the public.
Nakea, who has performed in the Eccles Concert Hall several times, is known for his technique, love of music and teaching, beautiful tone and interpretations of Chopin’s music. For this recital, Nakea will perform an all-Chopin program, which will include Six Mazurkas, the famous Ballade No. 1 in G Minor, Ballade No. 4 in F Minor, the Polonaise in A-flat Major, Op. 53 (“Heroic”), and the Andante Spianato and Grande Polonaise Brillante.
“Robert Nakea is a sublime artist and he always performs with brilliance, artistry, and grace,” Dixie State Professor of Music Dr. Nancy Allred said. “This recital is not to be missed.”
The All-Steinway Series promotes DSU’s effort to become an All-Steinway School and features the Model D Concert Grand Steinway piano Zions Bank donated to the university in 2016. Becoming an All-Steinway School offers DSU students a world-class instrument to play and a professional performance experience from freshman year to graduation.
