Dixie Hispanic Student Association to screen film about undocumented students
As a fundraiser for scholarships for undocumented students, the Dixie Hispanic Student Association will host a screening of the film “Papers,” the story of undocumented youth and the challenges they face as they turn 18 without legal status.
According to the Dixie State’s Institutional Research, there are between 30 and 40 undocumented students currently attending classes on campus.
With the recent change in U.S. presidency, many of those students are facing a sense of fear of possible deportation. But there are students who are assuring others by sharing their own stories.
The screening is set for 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, in the Gardner Conference Room B. General admission is $5 or $3 for students with DSU student IDs.
