In a historic event, Dixie State University celebrated the formation of its student-embodied Institute of Politics and Public Affairs on Oct. 26. DSU now joins all other state universities with an on-campus political voice.
The grand opening is timely, with the beginning of early voting in Washington County. Among the guest speakers at the ribbon-cutting event was U.S. Congressman Chris Stewart.
Student advocates of politics say now is the time for their voices to be heard, especially during what appears to be an uncertain future.
DSU students and faculty will also have the opportunity to vote early at DSU, from November 1 to 3 from noon to 4 p.m. in the Gardner Center.
