Utah Lt. Governor to Deliver DSU 2015 Commencement Address

Dixie State University has selected Utah Lieutenant Governor Spencer J. Cox to address the institution's graduating class at DSU's 104th Commencement Exercises on Friday, May 8, at 11 a.m., at the M. Anthony Burns Arena. Lt. Governor Cox will also receive an honorary doctorate degree in Humanities as part of the commencement ceremony.
Spencer J. Cox was appointed Utah's eighth Lieutenant Governor on October 16, 2013. At the time of his selection by Governor Gary R. Herbert, he was serving in the Utah State Legislature and had previously served as a Sanpete County Commissioner and mayor of Fairview, Utah. He was the Vice President and General Counsel of CentraCom, a full service telecommunications company with one of the largest fiber optic networks in the state. Formerly he practiced law with the law firm Fabian and Clendenin in Salt Lake City.

Lt. Governor Cox earned an Associate Degree from Snow College, a Bachelor Degree in Political Science and Spanish from Utah State University, and a Juris Doctor Degree from Washington and Lee University. He enjoys camping and hiking with his wife, Abby, and their four children and playing the bass guitar with his brother in a local rock band.
